Procedures for issuance of Temporary Residence Cards for Korean Citizen who are spouses of Vietnamese citizens

Korean citizens who are married to Vietnamese citizens are eligible to apply for a temporary residence card with a maximum validity of 5 years, allowing multiple entries into Viet Nam during its validity period

Korean citizens who are married to Vietnamese citizens are eligible to apply for a temporary residence card with a maximum validity of 5 years, allowing multiple entries into Viet Nam during its validity period.

I. CONDITIONS FOR ISSUANCE OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARDS

·        Marriage Certificate issued in Viet Nam, or Marriage Record annotated in Viet Nam for cases of marriage abroad.

·        Korean passport must be valid for at least 13 months at the time of application submission.

·        The visa currently used in Viet Nam must be consistent with the correct purpose of stay.

·        The applicant must prepare a complete application dossier in accordance with Viet Nam’s immigration regulations.

II. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

The application dossier for Korean citizens married to Vietnamese citizens includes:

·        Marriage Certificate or Marriage Record annotated in Viet Nam.

·        Sponsorship letter and application for temporary residence card for foreigners.

·        Application form for issuance of temporary residence card (per prescribed form).

·        Original passport and valid visa.

·        Two (02) color photos sized 2 x 3 cm.

·        Household Registration Book of the Vietnamese spouse.

·        Vietnamese spouse’s Identity Card/Citizen Identification Card.

III. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1.      Submit the application at the Immigration Department or the Immigration Office of the provincial/municipal Police where the applicants reside.

2.      Pay the prescribed fee according to the applicable regulations of the Immigration Management Department.

3.      Processing time: 05 working days from the date a complete and valid dossier is received.

IV. NOTES

·        If the Korean spouse is currently using a visa with an incorrect purpose, they must change to the appropriate visa category before applying for a temporary residence card.

·        When all documents are complete and valid, the temporary residence card may be issued with a maximum validity of 5 years.
