Vietnam e-visa portal moves to new domains, travelers urged to update application links

Vietnam’s Immigration Department says that from 08:00 on November 11, 2024, the country’s electronic visa portal has been operating on two new official domains: thithucdientu.gov.vn and evisa.gov.vn.

The change is an important operational update for travelers who need to submit an e-visa application, check results or monitor processing status before boarding a flight to Vietnam.

Under the notice posted on the portal, applicants should use the new addresses to file applications and retrieve results rather than relying on older saved links.

In addition to e-visa issuance, the portal also connects users with services such as electronic visa transactions for overseas Vietnamese representative offices and checkpoints, temporary residence declaration for foreigners, and other immigration functions.

For international passengers, the key point is not a change in visa validity but the need to use the correct official gateway so that applications are not misdirected or delayed close to departure.

Airlines, ticketing agencies and travel companies are therefore advising passengers to review bookmarked links and complete Vietnam entry procedures only through the official government domains.
